L.F DOES A/W - LINE ART

Simple but effective. Easy nod to the mods.
I look like a alien! Anyway I would of preferred the lower lash lines to be more straight and less angled. Next time! They look more crazy here.
Rocking the 60s in my pajamas. HOT.
KEY PRODUCTS:
BOBBI BROWN LONG-WEAR GEL EYELINER - BLACK INK
BLACK EYE-SHADOW
GOSH EXTREME ART EYE LINER - 26
MAC POWDER - TAUPE
MAC LIPSTICK - FANFARE

Hey guys, so this week is another interpretation of the 60s. I know, I'm obsessed! The main feature is the 3 straight drawn on lower lash lines. My lines could be more straighter, but you get the idea. I also added some glitter liner on top just to liven things up. It's graphic, bold and fun!
To work out my lines, I use gel eyeliner to map out the shape and to soften I go over with a black eye-shadow to give a softer diffused edge.
Hope you like it and give it a go :)

OH EDIE!

Francois Nars behind the make-up for Marc Jacobs S/S 13 collection. Edie Sedgwick as the main reference but a modern interpretation to lessen the 60s vibe with no lipstick, blush or false eyelashes to translate the models into modern New York girls.
This is why I love make-up.You can so easily change the appearance of features with strategic placements of shading. Such a classic 60s look of the drooping moon shape eye with the added false lashes to frame the eyes. Almost manga-esque?
Edie's trademark: strong eyebrows and monochromatic crease on the lids.
My interpretation!

Hey guys, this is probably my most 'authentic' 60s inspired look I've done to date. I've done a few 60's inspired looks but I've surprisingly not done the classic moon shape they seemed to rock.
I decided to go all out by adding false lashes, but to keep it looking not too costume-y I didn't use any white eye-shadow which would of changed the look completely. I wanted it to look quite wearable so nothing was too polished. I did a quite haphazard blending of the black fake crease by blending out a kohl pencil outline with shadow and heavy mascara with a full strip of false eyelashes on the top lash line and a selection of individual clusters on the lower lash line. To complete the look I did the infamous full brow and muted the lips with a pale nude lipstick.
Do you like my Edie inspired look?

A BIT OF MOD-ESTY

Webcam photo, but you can see how it works together with the face. Apart from the eyes, everything else doesn't really go with the mod vibe, but if you are interested in the lip colour it is MAC - plumful lipstick.
KEY PRODUCTS:
NYX JUMBO EYE PENCIL - MILK
RIMMEL KOHL EYE LINER PENCIL - PURE WHITE
SLEEK EAU LA LA LINER - NOIR

Hey guys, I was just going for a more graphic 'line' style eye but I started to blend and....... I lost the simplicity of just a bold stroke. I need to learn to stop blending sometimes.
Anyway I had the urge to do a mod/60s eye after going to a talk with Elizabeth Walker (Marie Claire) and she had a slideshow with some images of her in her teens and I just got mesmerised by her eye make-up (makeup magpie).
Ignore the rest of my face - it's not really authentic!

EDIT - this post was called 'JUST THE EYES' but I've renamed it since I found a face photo!

BACK TO THE 60S.... AGAIN

SOURCE
I remember this image when the whole 'beatnik' trend was all the rage. Pretty sure this make-up was done by Pat McGrath for Dior. It's a more grown up version of the graphic eyes of the 60s.
The lower lash line of my  right eye needs fixing, learn from my mistakes!
Focus on this eye instead!
KEY PRODUCTS:
MAYBELLINE LASTING DRAMA GEL LINER - BLACK (I SET THIS WITH BLACK EYE-SHADOW TO PREVENT ANY TRANSFERRING)
MAC EYE SHADOW - WEDGE (SOFT EYE CONTOURING)
MAKE UP FOREVER FLASH COLOUR - WHITE AND SET WITH SUGARPILL TAKO PRESSED EYE-SHADOW
MAC SKINSHEEN BRONZER STICK - TAN TINT AND SET WITH MAC SCULPT POWDER (I HAVE A MOON FACE)
MAC LIPSTICK - BRAVE NEW BRONZE

Hey guys, deadline was yesterday and now I have a week off (technically tutorial week and I have one lecture still).
Anyway, I was browsing at my older make-up looks and I stumbled across a 60s inspired look I did 2 years ago. Looking at the sheer mess of it, I thought I'd do a more refined version of it because the old one almost borders onto the drag fancy dress territory... you can see it here (I miss my jawline *sniff*).
I've not been too adventurous this time.... there was nothing I felt like tweaking from the inspiration photo. It's 60s mod without the tackiness - we all hate tacky right?
Hope you guys try it out- steady hand and baby wipes (to smooth lines) and you're ready to rock!

MEH DAY

I was thinking of a new spin on the Mod look- the classic moon shape with a twist of glitter. But the end entire look is really blah... sorry meh day today!

WELCOME TO THE 60S AND EPIC CAMERA FAIL!

Welcome to the 60s and epic camera fail. Whilst editing it dawned on me I forgot to focus. Yes camera noob. Enjoy the blurred shots!
