L.F DOES S/S - TWO TONED LIPS

Sophie brought along another Illamasqua card, this time showing how to do a two toned lip. Lips is a territory I'm slowly getting into, so I wanted to try a new technique on Elly.
Plain face Elly with just MAC's snob on.
After! It's quite a heavy look with the full brows, eyes and lips.... but I think she pulls this off perfectly. The tones compliments her skin tone and enhances her existing features.
Flash shot to bring out the colours more.

KEY PRODUCTS:
MAC LIP PENCIL - VINO
NYX LIP PENCIL - PINKY
MAC EYE-SHADOW - GULF STREAM
ILLAMASQUA PURE PIGMENT - ALLUVIUM
MAC BLUSH - SPRINGSHEEN

Hey guys, so this is Elly's look! Elly showed me her purchase of Illamasqua's pure pigment in alluvium, which was this beautiful blue-purple shade and so blue smokey eye was the route I decided to go down for her. I used a few different tones to add depth and the teal blue running across the crease I think softens the whole look. I was a bit undecided on which colour way to go with the lips but I'm a total sucker for a dark lip and I wanted to use MAC's vino which was in Elly's make-up bag.
Do you guys like the transformations?

L.F DOES S/S - COLOUR AURA WITH S.K

Sophie came round with some Illamasqua look cards and the 'colour levitation' eye look inspired me to create a colourful smokey eye. I particularity like the use of orange used by Illamasqua, so that became the starting point for me.
Before! Thanks for braving the camera and internet :)
Candy-fairy iridescent goodness!
KEY PRODUCTS:
URBAN DECAY 24/7 GLIDE ON EYE PENCIL - ASPHYXIA
MAC PAINT POT - ROLLICKIN'
MAYBELLINE EYESTUDIO LASTING DRAMA GEL LINER
MAC REFLECTS TRANSPARENT TEAL
MAC EYE SHADOW - OFF THE PAGE, CREME DE VIOLET AND AQUADIASIC

Hey guys, last week my wonderful friends Sophie and Elly came round to be my models for the day. I got total free reign but they had mention they would be going out later, so it was in the back of my mind not to go too crazy. I've probably mentioned this before, but a special shout out to both of them for being really supportive about my interest in make-up. They've been encouraging and there for me since day one, so thank-you so much. It means a lot to me!
With my Illamasqua reference, I used the orange shade as a wash on the lids as the starting point and it just went from there. I wanted to play with colour but for it to be a softer interpretation I've gone down the candy route with the iridescent pastel tones. The use of MAC's reflects transparent teal really finished the look for me, but unfortunately you can see a little stray flecks about.
I hope you like this look and Elly's look will be up on here next.

L.F RAMBLES - HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ILLAMASQUA HAUL

I actually went 'out out' this year. Was OK. More hype really but I was with my best friend so it's all good. This is me after the night out btw. Also look! It's the 'real' home background again.
They've recently opened an Illamasqua stand alone store in VQ in Leeds...  huzzah! Oh the illustration on the bag is also divine.
My good friend actually bought a full bottle of Freak after just one sniff
ILLAMASQUA POWDER EYE-SHADOW - SYNTH AND FALLEN
I love Illamasqua eye-shadows as they blend like a dream.... and most of them are matte. Which is my favourite finish to work with. Synth reminds me of MAC's pink opal pigment and surprisingly the fine glitter doesn't 'drop'.... WIN.

Hey guys, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let's make 2012 an even better year!

Hey guys! I'm back with a look for you. I'm currently on my half term break and have sooo much work to catch up on, I'm deliberately avoiding it - which won't help me one bit!
Anyway on Sunday I was forcing myself to do something creative or I wouldn't have anything for you guys and everything was just going pants so by the fifth time of starting again I had enough!
This look (from yesterday) was based from the make-up in the Dior/John Galliano shows. It's not based on any particular show. So its a mish-mash of all of them.

BOX IT

Hope you like it! I had a bad camera day so I really couldn't be bothered to keep trying, so these almost identical shots will have to do. I used M.A.C's face and body foundation and I don't love it photography wise on myself, but to be fair my skin is quite neglected atm... stress= breakouts :(

While I've still got the book I might do a couple more Alex Box inspired make-up..unless you guys are wanting some more tame things from me!
Apparently I've been at college for almost 6 weeks now? Which is crazy.... seems like I've just started! The work load is CRAZY!!! BIG-BIG-BIG jump from A-level. We've almost completed an additional drawing qualification (too lazy to go find out the actual name.. so lets just call it drawing qualification!). Which included 2 weeks of INTENSE drawing sessions which while I 'hated' (cause I'm rubbish) I did learn a heck of a lot. I really recommend anyone interested in art to do a foundation course before a degree. A-level art is nothing ( you don't get taught any skills)!!
Anyway speaking of college I really cannot decide on what to specialise in (I have 3 weeks? to decide). I am so torn on textiles ('art' by manipulating fabrics)/fashion (design of garments etc) vs graphics/illustration!!!!
I know in the past I've sworn to 'end' the fashion L.F within me but after the presentation talks (each leader talked about their specialist area) I couldn't help but mourn for textiles/fashion. I am not 'hardcore-fashion-know-it-all' but it is my passion- I always seek out/drawn to fashion designers. And I can spit out more designers then artists in other fields. BUT my mum really doesn't want me to do it. And has alliterated this since I finished a-levels with "anything but textiles". I am just infatuated with the designs, the whole 'vibe' and the fashion world... its just the making that kills it.

I LOVE BOTH!!!!

BOX IT- PREVIEW

ALEX BOX!

Hey guys! This is just a preview of the make-up I did tonight (currently missing True Blood because of this- thank-god for Channel 4 +1!
Anyway at college were allowed to help recommend books and I asked for Alex Box by Rankin.... and today I spotted it in the library- hurrah!
The book is breathtaking and I couldn't help but do a look inspired by her work.
All will be revealed soon (probably not worth the wait).

MARION COTILLARD VOGUE PARIS SEPTEMBER 2010 INSPIRED MAKE-UP

More info' at DESIGN scene

The brows were more 'bleached' out IRL. Also let that right eyebrow scar you mentally from over plucking (I wanted brows like Fergie 2 years ago)!!!!

Very Illamasqua-esque?!

Hey guys, I hope you enjoy my return to doing make-up looks instead of rambling about doing them!

My inspiration was from Marion Cotillard's (loved her in Inception- oh yes, I plugged that film in again) Vogue Paris cover. I love the bleached brow trend, sported on all major catwalk shows and on the lovely Lara Stone. It just adds that editorial edge. Mine are obviously not concealed very well but you get the jist?

Main products used:
  • M.A.C Humid eyeshadow
  • M.A.C Blackground paint pot- love the stuff
  • Sleek eye-shadows from various palettes- sorry I've depotted them all so no idea which ones they are from
  • Ardell lashes
  • Cargo black eyeliner- used to deepen areas/act as a guide
  • M.A.C studio fix fluid foundation- amazing heavy duty stuff!!!
Lastly...

The sound is out of sync, but I wanted to utilise my laptop!!! I might do this for all the more 'fashion' looks so you get to see a better perspective.

Enjoy!

SAD. SAD. SAD. I wasn't joking when I said I collect postcards!!! Couldn't find any M.A.C ones so some Illamasqua and Dolce & Gabbana ones will have to do!

Quick hi! Got told the night before we were off out with Michelle and co to Manchester. So no revision!! My mum decided to treat me and my sister and gave us some money to enjoy ourselves. Bad idea. My quick high has turned into guilt. I had to show her everything I bought... she wasn't impressed!!!
