L.F DOES S/S - CHEN MAN FOR MAC INSPIRED

Promo image for the MAC and Chen Man collaboration. Her work is stunning!
Behind the scenes - the final image is a bit different to the photos here.... or maybe he wasn't quite finished with the look!
Very loosely inspired, I took things and changed some things up but the colour scheme and placement  is what inspired me the most. The cheeks had a more 'pinched' look too, which was done just by loads of layering and buffing :)
KEY PRODUCTS:
MAC EYE SHADOW - PASSIONATE AND CLIMATE BLUE
URBAN DECAY EYE SHADOW - NARCOTIC
ELF EYE TRANSFORMER - BLUE SHADE (LAYERED ON TOP OF THE TURQUOISE LID TO REPLICATE A 'GLOSS' LOOK TO THE EYE)
MAKE UP FOREVER FLASH COLOUR - FUCHSIA AND TURQUOISE
NYX LIP PENCIL - PINKY
LA FEMME BLUSH- CORAL (NOT SURE WHY BUT THIS KEPT FADING ON ME)
CONCEALER TO 'LIGHTEN' THE BROWS

Hey guys, this look will be the start of doing my spring/summer make-up series again for 2012. Certainly doesn't feel like it outside.
Don't need to point this out but this isn't the most flattering make-up on me ever! I think it's the brows, my face needs structure.
Anyway things that I picked up whilst doing this make-up was using creams on top of powders was quite interesting to work with - I did this with the eyes and it created a more matte finish than a glossy sheen.... something you guys might want to try out. Also if you happen to have any concealers that are too light - they work as wonderful natural looking highlighters to the face. I used this on the centre of my lower lid.
Lastly it is worth mentioning to replicate the official look authentically you can purchase the actual products they used online and in store right now (limited edition though - you know MAC).

HAULIN' 10

I've actually always wanted to go to a seminar by MAC and yesterday I decided to take the plunge of booking a place. The S/A said it's held in a private room where we'll be taught the latest looks and get to see all the new winter collections a week early! My expectations are high so I'll do a a review of it when I go to it  :)
I am not perfume savvy at all. I just either like it or I don't. I LOVE THIS. It was just by chance I smelt this and now I'm spraying this everytime I see it. I need a new perfume anyway as I've actually manged to finish my main fragrances (Marc Jacobs Lola and Givenchy Ange ou Demon).  So I have an incentive haha.
Stumbling around TK Maxx and I found Pixi products..... all for £2.99. YAY.
I love how the kit is so slim and I'm really impressed with the quality of the eye shadows (no primer used in the swatches, though I can't comment on the wear etc atm). This palette will be great for my kit!
Love the holographic pink tones that come through depending on the light. I'm starting to use eye-shadow again (too lazy in the morning.... I just stick with liner!). I think this shade will look lovely with brown tones :)

At this moment in time I've not got any work to do over the weekends...... so I just go into town. Which is bad. Because I will just buy things. I've also been hitting up H&M  quite a bit recently because there doesn't seem to be a Zara here... or maybe I just keep missing it. Anyway hopefully this will be the last of my unnecessary sprees. Such a bad student. Don't be like me!

UNNECESSARY STUDENT PURCHASE OF THE WEEK- MAC MINERALIZE SKINFINISH IN LIGHTSCAPADE

FULL GLORY!

I've seen the original one before (the first time I ever saw MAC in real life- good and bad moment in a sense) and it had a way more cooler marble thing going on with strong veins of blue. BUT I still like this version....and I will use it! I have the MAC MSF in soft and gentle and it's just way too intense for the day time.
I'm a tiny bit caught in the hype but since I will use this I feel less guilty :D

HAULIN' 8

Thought I'd show you a most recent photo of myself. I look 'OK' considering I had an all night bender the day before (celebrated F.A.D being over)
 ZARA- £4.99
I really like the illustrations and the mid length sleeve detail
FRENCH ELLE- 20P (ALL MONEY GOES TO CHARITY)
I've picked up a few issues awhile ago and then whilst passing my colleges library recently they had even more back issues (30+) for sale. So like the massive hoarder that I am, I spent a good while picking out which issues to get (good make-up/fashion articles or editorials).
Beth is actually one of my tutors but I wasn't aware she made jewelry until I stumbled onto her site. I'm still on my hand made crafting kick and when I saw that she made hand stamped inscription rings for £40.00, I thought it was pretty reasonable and unlike costume jewelry a worthwhile investment. You can decide on what word/s you want on the ring. I decided on having the word 'ring' on my ring (I still find it amusing).
I've been wearing my ring non-stop and I'm considering getting a few more. And I believe they are sterling silver and hand made from scratch too.

You can read my full post here.
M.A.C- Rocker Chick “Look in a Box”- £30.50 (airport exclusive)
I asked my mum to get me this as it's such a good deal! I'll replicate the look above using the products soon. To see/read what products are inside click here.
THE KILLS- 31ST OF MAY AT LEEDS MET
I think this is the most impulsive buy I've ever made lol. I was checking out their page on Facebook and I saw that they were going to be playing in Leeds.... further investigation showed there were still tickets left. BAM. I have two tickets! I'm going with Elly Steer and I'm really excited. Still a gig newbie, this will be my second one ever!

HAULIN' 6 - YORK DESIGNER OUTLET

THE BODY SHOP
Oil paper holder - £0.25p and shimmer cubes palette 18- £5.00 (originally £15)
L-R: green shimmer, precious pink, silver sparkle, pearly white
I love iridescent shades, these colours will look great layered over with E.L.F's eye transformer.
I like how the cubes are in little pots so are handy to take out. Also the formulas are really interesting. It's creamy yet has a powder texture so it gives the texture of a cream product without the sliding around business. I hope anyway. I wouldn't buy them full price personally just because I find them too expensive for what they are!
CCO- M.A.C
£50.50 FOR THE LOT!!!
M.A.C 165 tapered cheek/highlight brush- £18.75
I had a feeling this was limited edition. Perfect for contouring. Pretty sure Pixiwoo used this. Always an incentive.
L-R- M.A.C reflects blue glitter (£9.25), pan eye-shadows in brun and kid (£6.65) and pan blush in style (£9.00).
GLITTER!
Swatches, in same order as above and the glitter isn't showing up :(

Hey guys. So the main reason I went to Y.D.O was for the C.C.O (Estee Lauder Companies) which is basically a shop full of Estee Lauder owned brands at discounted prices, so you'll find Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder and M.A.C! I think you can guess my main interest was M.A.C, but I did look at the other stuff but it was rather want than need (Estee Lauder had LOADS of stock).
I've been to Y.D.O before and I can say last time M.A.C was WAY better with the stock (loads more products available). So yeah that's all I got. Well, I did pick up other stuff too... But I don't really fancy showing you guys my bras lol.

HAULIN' 5

My college were selling all the back issues of the The Face so after some digging around I picked these. Can you guess why?!
PIKA PIKA!
Belated present (thank-you E.S)! I already own M.A.C VIVA GLAM Cyndi, so yay to another backup and I think its officially gone now... on the website anyway.
Apparently a dupe for M.A.C's club eye-shadow. My photos don't justify the awesome blue-green duo chrome effect.
Ruth pipped me to the post. Basically I was with a friend in Harvey Nichols and a Aveda S.A was going round giving away these vouchers (consultation to their 3 step and you get to trial it). Very generous promotion, and the SA took her time to 'analyse me'. The counter where I went to had a stack of the vouchers at the till area, so maybe worth having a look  at your nearest Aveda counter. PLUS they give you a £10 off voucher is you buy the system.
HG cleanser and I'm pleasantly surprised with the Grease Lightning sample they gave me, it feels nice on the skin and I *think* it's helping my skin to be spot free.

HAULIN' 4

No play...
With Extended Play! Gah, it wouldn't be right if I didn't mess up the lips right?! Sorry for all the posey-ness too.
I went to a single launch for Black Moth last night. It was so so so good. The lead singer was in my 'form' (yesterday was the last day for group 3!!! We all split into specialist areas now!). I had no idea of her musical talents until a few weeks ago!!
Post cards!!! MALEFICENT ROCKS (she's my favourite out of all the villains)! The Viva Glam one is cool too as the images pop out - I am easily impressed haha.
My 'swag' YES that was reference to the X-Factor. NO I don't watch it, unless its a Sunday-I-woke-up-really-late-and-there's- the-repeat-of-the-show-and-I'll-waste-an-hour-watching-it-when-half-the-show-is-adverts- and-no-talk-talk-I'm-not-joining-you.

From L-R
Nail Lacquer in Mean & Green
Lipglass in Revenge is Sweet
Nail Lacquer in Bad Fairy
Just realised I've only bought things from Maleficent, heh.

Hey guys! I was planning to record this 'swag' using my SLR camera but I couldn't find any decent lighting round the house :( So blog postage it is.

First of all I'm usually one of them geeky-sad types that go out on the first day of any significant  M.A.C collection launch. And Venomous Villains was one of those collections that I didn't really want anything but I knew if I didn't check it out, THINGS WILL SELL OUT. So by Thursday night after browsing the 'net of everyone raving, I knew I had to go the next day. ASAP.

So I ended up going to M.A.C with A.J at lunch time and I pre warned him L.F will oodle and ahhh for a long time before she ends up picking out one thing. He was cool with it, in fact he loved it there! He was trying out all the polishes and joking around with the staff (wish I had his pizazz). He even convinced this random customer to buy a nail polish when he went "they look like this on the nails blah blah" so much so the customer bought it and the MUA there said he should work there!!! I was like go you A.J, he's such a charmer.

Anyway I'm not much of a Disney fan, sure I love the the films etc. But I'm not 'hardcore' or anything to feel compelled to collect everything. One thing I always had my eye on was the lipglass (see above) and the nail polishes. I preferred Mean & Green, A.J liked Bad Fairy. Dilemma. Do I?! Anyway as I was about to pay the lovely (not pushy at all) MUA there was like well we only have one Bad Fairy left, are you sure? Yep. I succumbed to the pressure. Also I can't believe their already selling out after one day after the launch!!! Sorry people who wanted it at Leeds Harvey Nic's, I got the last one!!!!!

Lastly, I haven't collected any postcards in AGES.  They never seem to have them at my store (or so  they say). But I KNEW they had to for this major collection and they did but Maleficent was the only character they had left - lucky me I love her. I also spotted the Viva Glam one but she said you could only get it if you bought something from Viva Glam. I think she saw 'sad' face because she sneaked me in one - oh yeah!!! LOL at me rambling about a piece of card. Obsessions ey!

If you pick up anything feel free to share, if you want anything go ASAP though!!! Things are selling fast. I will  do swatches when I use them.

P.S I liked Toxic Tale lipstick but I found it a bit too 'summery', Dark Deed lipstick is perfect for fall but I just hated the formula and Bite of an Apple blush is really nice but I hate the packaging!! What's with the raised lid-bit? Or have blushes been like this for awhile?

MARION COTILLARD VOGUE PARIS SEPTEMBER 2010 INSPIRED MAKE-UP

More info' at DESIGN scene

The brows were more 'bleached' out IRL. Also let that right eyebrow scar you mentally from over plucking (I wanted brows like Fergie 2 years ago)!!!!

Very Illamasqua-esque?!

Hey guys, I hope you enjoy my return to doing make-up looks instead of rambling about doing them!

My inspiration was from Marion Cotillard's (loved her in Inception- oh yes, I plugged that film in again) Vogue Paris cover. I love the bleached brow trend, sported on all major catwalk shows and on the lovely Lara Stone. It just adds that editorial edge. Mine are obviously not concealed very well but you get the jist?

Main products used:
  • M.A.C Humid eyeshadow
  • M.A.C Blackground paint pot- love the stuff
  • Sleek eye-shadows from various palettes- sorry I've depotted them all so no idea which ones they are from
  • Ardell lashes
  • Cargo black eyeliner- used to deepen areas/act as a guide
  • M.A.C studio fix fluid foundation- amazing heavy duty stuff!!!
Lastly...

The sound is out of sync, but I wanted to utilise my laptop!!! I might do this for all the more 'fashion' looks so you get to see a better perspective.

Enjoy!
