L.F DOES S/S - CORAL KISS

I worked on top of her existing make-up which was: mascara and Garnier BB cream
She has the longest lashes EVER.
KEY PRODUCTS:
REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK - KISS ME CORAL
SHU UEMURA EYELASH CURLERS
URBAN DECAY 24/7 EYELINER - ROCKSTAR
CHANEL ILLUSION D'OMBRE EYESHADOW - ILLUSOIRE

Hey guys, so this is Elly again who is one of my closet friends from high school. She's just super awesome and positive all the time AND she gets my fascination with make-up - most of my friends just think I'm crazy.
She had a date to go to, so that was the brief - do whatever I wanted but not too 'crazy'. She also bought a lovely coral shade from Revlon that day so i wanted to somehow incorporate it in.
I did all the make-up apart from the base as she just wanted to keep what she was wearing. Random side note.... I personally don't mind seeing a few blemishes - unless I'm doing a shoot or they want to look 'perfected'. I kind of like to keep some elements kind of 'real' - sometimes I get sick of seeing all these immaculate young adults, it's normal to have blemishes. Nothing to be ashamed of!

L.F DOES S/S - DARK DAWN

Found this after I finished my look, but you can say loosely inspired.
Ignore cheek blending area! And skanky neon vest. Has a dog face on it though.
KEY PRODUCTS:
SLEEK EAU LA LA LINER - NOIR <3333
SLEEK MINERAL BASED EYESHADOW PALETTE - BAD GIRL
COLLECTION 2000 GLAM CRYSTALS - ROCK CHICK
GOSH EXTREME ART EYE LINER - 26
NYX LIP PENCIL - DEEP PURPLE
REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK - BLACK CHERRY
YSL GLOSSY STAIN - 5
MAC PIGMENT - DARK SOUL
MAC GLITTER - REFLECTS GOLD

Hey guys, so I've broken up for summer, lots of freedom and spare time....... so I'd only go through a make-up block. WHY?! I've taken off 3 'possible' looks so far but this look made it.
Not weather appropriate at all (winter bunny hating on this summer bunny weather) but I can't resist going down the 20s path.
Anyway ramble aside, I experimented with 'dusting' on loose pigment/glitter to create a 'speckled' effect on the eyes but maybe I didn't use enough because I don't think it shows up too well.
Till next time!

L.F DOES S/S - NEON LIGHTS

Bruised purples and pale skin.... *swoon*. Oh, and the 'bitten' lips inspired me with this weeks look!
Grunge-y smokey brown ochre eyes with neon lime accents.
Skin is in recovery mode and massive eyes bags :(
Wearing false eyelashes for once!
KEY PRODUCTS:
REVLON MATTE EYESHADOW - VINTAGE LACE
MAC EYESHADOW - BITTER
NARS DUO EYESHADOW - KILIMANJARO (ICY YELLOW SIDE)
BECCA COMPACT CONCEALER - TAHINI
MAC SKINSHEEN BRONZER STICK - TAN-TINT
DANIEL SANDLER WATERCOLOUR BLUSH - CHERUB
BECCA SHIMMERING SKIN PERFECTOR - TOPAZ
LE METIER DE BEAUTE CLASSIC FLAWLESS FOUNDATION - 6
REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK - BLACK CHERRY

Hey guys, back again. Slightly belated with this weeks look - general uni' deadlines, you guys can feel my pain.
Technically not really neon but MAC's bitter is pretty bad-ass. I used a damp brush to make the pigment even stronger and less powdery.
Hope you guys like it and experiment with colour placement if you don't feel comfortable using bright colours all over the the lid.
Also a special mention to Revlon's black cherry lipstick -  I'm usually a bit 'iffy' with drugstore lipsticks but this one is a really nice formula that applies and stays on well, which is what you want when you wear a darker shade. If you are wanting a berry bitten stain effect, give this a go!

L.F DOES S/S - PAINT BOX INSPIRED BY VAL GARLAND

Such a make-up MAVERICK. I really love Val Garland's work because the looks she produces are so varied and original each time - she can do anything!
When I browse through my fashion tear sheet/magazine collection, she is usually behind some of my favourite editorials.
This look has been on my 'to do' list for ages! The sort of mix and match of colours and 'that' brow *swoon*.
No flash *I don't think* (had wrong camera settings), so colours are true to life.
Also a mention about my skin.... this is after a months use of Clarisonic!
One brow and one flick? Yes! In hindsight I should of covered my brows but I didn't plan on taking the colour up so far.
KEY PRODUCTS:
MAC EYE-SHADOWS -  BITTER, FIG. 1, SWIMMING, PASSIONATE, BLUE HEAT AND CLIMATE BLUE
URBAN DECAY EYESHADOW - GREEN GODDESS
MUFE 12 FLASH COLOUR CASE - RED, TURQUOISE, LEAF GREEN, YELLOW AND CORAL (USED ON LIPS ALSO)

Hey guys, this is my first look since being back at uni (this was done on 21/04/12)! All the looks you've seen so far have been scheduled ones - so I've had a 3 week Easter break from doing 'fashion' make-up!
I was going to keep this kind of tame but I decided to go for it when I gradually kept on adding more and more colours.
The use of  MUFE flash colours helped the look to have more 'slap dash' feel because it was getting quite 'blendy-blendy' beforehand - I'm too much of a perfectionist :(
The added one brow and one flick is a direct nod to Garland's editorial work for Vogue Italia. And I think adds a 'quirky' playful vibe to the look without making the rest of the face match.
I think with make-up there's that line on how far to take things and learning when to stop (same with anything 'creative' actually).
Hope you guys like it! It was really fun creating this :)

L.F DOES S/S - SEEING ROUGE

I always reference back to this... I love the make-up so much (I'm a sucker for bleached brows).
Eagle-eyed readers may remember I recreated this look before, but I took it down because I wasn't happy with it. I may re-do it one day!
This is the image that inspired me with this weeks look. You guys know I have a thing for strong make-up. Monochromatic look that is simple yet brash. Oh and Anais Pouliot lips are to die for (current girl crush). I have a thing for pouty lips atm. Lana Del Ray looking... but natural ;)
I know the brows are a tad red toned - I couldn't find my usual pencil! And I think I look like a fish here haha.
Hi stray hair!
KEY PRODUCTS:
LA FEMME BLUSHER - RED (ALL OVER LID)
LA FEMME BLUSHER - ROSE (BROW BONE AND USED TO BLEND EDGES)
LA FEMME BLUSHER - FRAMBOESIA (INNER TEAR DUCT AREA)
MAC STUDIO FIX FLUID FOUNDATION
MAC SKIN SHEEN BRONZER STICK -  TAN-TINT
MAC MINERALIZE SKINFINISH - LIGHTSCAPADE
NO7 PERFECT LIPS PENCIL - FIRE (WITH MATCHING LIPSTICK AND GLOSS)

Hey guys, S/S is here, so colour is back with a vengeance!
The main emphasis of this weeks look is a raccoon of varying rouge tones around the eyes with matching lips. Instead of a matte stained look seen in the photo above, I decided to add some gloss to amplify the impact even more.
For the rest of the face, just perfect the skin and with the brows I mainly focused on the tail area to add structure.
Really easy and effective look to achieve. Keeping things simple isn't always such a bad thing!

L.F DOES S/S - PRETTY UGLY

Yes. I'm referencing a Galliano girl again. It's a sultry dark doll, with the rich reds and flashes of metallic gold *dies*. Stephane Marais is also behind the hair and make-up <3
PRADA F/W 2012
Dubbed "virtual princesses" it's a very graphic and heavy look with the block colours, neon accents, sharp defining lines and harsh highlighting. It kind of reminds me of graffiti. It's kind of 'pretty ugly.'
The weird blue tinge on my neck is from my hair dye, ignore!
I still need to work on the lips! Still trying to master the technique of a sharp lip line. Give me some tips if you can help me out! Apart from practice ;)
KEY PRODUCTS:
MUFE FLASH COLOUR PALETTE - BLACK AND GOLD
ILLAMASQUA POWDER EYE SHADOW - FALLEN
LA FEMME BLUSH - ORANGE

Hey guys, back with a more 'adventurous' look. I'm kind of loving my MUFE flash colour palette ATM..... so VERSATILE.
My aim for the make-up was to take the doll elements from the Galliano ad (gold lid accent and brows) and mix it with the Prada look, which for me was the colour scheme they used of black, white, orange and purple... an unusual colour palette I think.
What do you guys think? Even though it's very harsh I've kept it kind of 'soft' at the same time with the blurred out edges (I think I have a thing for blending) with the only 'defining' element being the straight eye brows.

L.F DOES S/S - LET'S MAKE THINGS STELLA-R

Stella McCartney F/W 2012
Neon periwinkle lashes paired with a fresh clean face
I should of used fake lashes... look how WIMPY my lashes are!
I'm not sure what they used at S.M - possibly just a coloured mascara. I had to mix up my own concotion so I think this just weighed down my lashes even more - I got the colour though!
Anyway I didn't feel like giving up and I whipped out my trusty MUFE flash colour palette to try liven things up or I'd just wash my face and call it a day (which happens a lot).....
3 flash colours later! That's it! No change to the rest of the face.
So liberating to see creasing... mmm creasy!
KATE MOSS BY MARIO TESTINO
This image was at the back of my mind when I was using the MUFE palette.
KEY PRODUCTS:
MAKE UP FOREVER 12 FLASH COLOUR CASE - SILVER, TURQUOISE AND BRIGHT BLUE

Hey guys (I will never stop starting my posts with that), back with another 'experimental' style make-up!
I've done a 'brush stroke' type look before but this time it was more about being 'slap dash' almost like painting with oils or something (p.s I hate painting) and just working with my eye shape.
I could of been more adventurous with the colour scheme but I wanted to work with the existing blue eyelashes... there is next time!

L.F DOES S/S - SPRING EQUINOX

Soft candy coloured hues..... love.
I've mentioned this video before here, I love the placement and application - all about layering guys!
The colour scheme I used reminds me of this Ilamasqua promo image - I wanted to mimic the skin which has this ethereal cool glow tinge.
You know that paranoid/insecure feeling when your trying out something 'new' for the first time? I had that. Anyway I'm over that initial stage.... I kind of love my green locks now! Shame it's not a permanent dye.
KEY PRODUCTS:
BENEFIT - BELLA BAMBA
BENEFIT - POSIE TINT
BENEFIT - EYE BRIGHT
THE BODY SHOP SHIMMER CUBES - 18
E.L.F EYE TRANSFORMER - BLUE
A RANGE OF IRIDESCENT EYESHADOWS IN PASTEL TONES - I'VE DEPOTTED MY EYE SHADOWS SORRY!

Hey guys, I guess this a 'typical' spring look with the soft muted pastel colours and iridescent finishes. I really enjoyed creating this I felt like some mermaid-pixie.
My advice is to avoid matte/pigmented eye shadows as you want to layer the colours to create these transparent hues. I always rave about E.L.F's eyeshadow transformer but it's seriously the best! The iridescent shots of colours makes it great for layering over colours and for softening edges whilst adding more dimension.
I've gone quite heavy with the highlighting to mirror the eyes - just make sure to highlight and powder the right areas or you'll look oily rather than dewy!

L.F DOES S/S - POP PASTELS

I drew the tail higher to give a more 'lifted' effect
 KEY PRODUCTS:
PALE EYELINER FOR THE WATERLINE
SET OF FEATHERY LASHES
INDIVIDUAL LASHES
PIGMENTED MATTE EYE SHADOW - I USED ONE FROM A SLEEK PALETTE
PALE LIP GLOSS OR LIPSTICK
CORAL/PINK/PEACH BLUSHER - I USED A MIX OF LA FEMME AND M.A.C

Hey guys! Technically I was inspired by a F/W make-up look, but I thought it suited S/S really well with the muted pastels and the dolly bright cheeks the girls sported.
I decided to go to town with the eyes and the individual eyelashes placed on the lower lash line gives it that fashion kick.
If you want to recreate this look remember to keep the eye shadow within a rounded shape and preferably use a matte eye shadow which I think makes it look more modern.
Block colour and lashes- simples!

L.F DOES S/S - GOLDEN TOUCH AND OTHER STUFF

Inspired by a Valentino show make-up (not sure when). I think the specific placement of the eye liner mixed in with the metallic gold streaks makes a good combination :)
KEY PRODUCTS:
SUGARPILL LOOSE EYE SHADOW - GOLDILUX
M.A.C MIXING MEDIUM (WATER BASED)
BLACK GEL AND PENCIL EYELINER
M.A.C LIPSTICK- RUSSIAN RED
I mentioned this on Twitter but I basically ombred  my hair purple. It's kind-of subtle so I may use stronger stuff in the future
Best nail I think
WARNING: MY NAILS ARE REALLY DRY AND GROSS
My first attempt at trying out the Giles 'eek' nails. Sophy Robson makes it look like such a breeze!! It's SO damn fiddly!! Anyway my mum decided to add the smiles which I think look kind of cute lol

Hey guys, another look! Not sure if this week's look is technically summer-y but I've always wanted to recreate that eye make-up since I first stuck that tear sheet on my wall (2 years ago maybe).
Hope you guys like it. I don't usually wear gold but I just LOVE the strategic black eyeliner placed at certain points. Also a shout out to Sugarpill's Goldilux............... GO BUY IT, IT IS AMAZING!

L.F DOES S/S - LINE AND BRONZE

Harper's Bazaar's White Heat June issue starring Eva Green by Camilla Akrans
I was loosely inspired by the image above. I was drawn to the graphic lined eyes and bronzed skin
Apologies for looking like a possessed demon
 BREAK DOWN OF MY INTERPRETATION:
INTENTIONAL HEAVY BRONZER (GO FOR WARMER ORANGE TONE) PLACED IN THE CONTOUR AREA
BROWS IN A ROUNDED AND ELONGATED SHAPE
MATTE CORAL LIP- THE TEXTURE IS LESS GLAMOROUS THAN THE GLOSS BUT ALLOWS THE FOCUS TO BE ON THE EYES
INNER EYE CONTOUR WORK - NOT NECESSARY BUT I WANTED TO ADD SOME DEFINITION
BLACK GRAPHIC LINED EYES IN ELONGATED CAT SHAPE- REMEMBER TO LINE YOUR UPPER AND LOWER WATERLINE OR IT'LL LOOK INCOMPLETE!

Hey guys! This is another S/S inspired look from me. It's quite rare for me to get drawn to overtly warm hued bronzer type looks but paired with the heavy clean rimmed black eyes, I think adds an edge to more traditional minimalist S/S looks.
I've gone for the more extreme 'fashion' take on Eva's look but to make it more wearable switching the gel liner for a pencil formula and smudging the lines will give a softer and less harsh appearance.
I *think* next week I'll be doing a Tom Ford  inspired look, so watch this space!

L.F DOES S/S - COLOUR CLASH

 RUN DOWN:
USING TAPE, MASK OUT A RECTANGLE 'FRAME' AND FILL IN THE EYE WITH A BLOCK COLOUR OF YOUR CHOICE, KEEP THE LINES AS SHARP AS POSSIBLE BUT NEARER TO THE INNER CORNERS DO THE OPPOSITIE AND FADE IN THE COLOUR
OMBRE CHEEKS, FIRST APPLY THE ORANGE AND THEN ADD THE DARKER RED SHADE AND BLEND THE 'JOINTS' TOGETHER
BOLD LIPS AND BROW
FALSE EYELASHES OPTIONAL

KEY PRODUCTS TO ACHIEVE THIS LOOK:
OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE COSMETICS LIP TAR IN ANIME (THE LIPS ARE MUCH BRIGHTER IRL, NOT SURE WHY THEY LOOK SO MUTED)
BARRY M DAZZLE DUST - 93
MUFE FLASH COLOUR - TURQUOISE
LA FEMME BLUSH IN ORANGE AND RED

Hey guys, hope you enjoy the look! Colour blocking seems to be EVERYWHERE, fashion and beauty world. I think i'll be doing a more wearable interpretation at a later date. But for now have fun experimenting!
