Hey guys, I thought I'd do a more wearable look this week, a take on the 'classic' beauty look. I actually got inspired to do this because my best friend is coming back to Leeds for a week and we said we'd go for dinner.
In my personal life, this is my *ideal* formal occasion make-up. Classic Hollywood-esque make-up. Everything is flawless, with defined but soft smokey eyes with shimmer in the inner tear duct area finished with a statement red lip.
With these types of make-up attention to detail is your core focus and every element has to be preened and perfected.
With the eyes I would go for more cool toned matte browns to keep things looking 'natural' (mimic natural shadow contours) with the inner tear duct shimmer adding a 'pop' to your eyes. Add black eyeliner and mascara/false lashes for definition, and spend time on your lower lashes to really define and fan them out. For the brows I would focus on the shape but keep them soft to avoid them being too much of a focal point.
For the skin I'd go for a matte finish and focus on concealing and brightening areas by using highlighting and contouring powders. A tip for subtle highlighting of the skin is to use lighter tone matte (no shimmer) eye shadow/face powder as this will blend into the skin without any 'artificial glow'.
I do tend to favour matte lips but using gloss is much more forgiving and flattering especially if your lips tend to dry out. For long lasting lips work in thin layers and use a lip liner if needed.
Hope you guys try it out! This look is pretty universally flattering as it's just about enhancing features and is great for any formal evenings.

L.F DOES S/S - JEWEL THIEF

Initial inspiration - I wanted to do something that covered the brows.
SOURCE
Chanel F/W 2012/2013. Statement embellished brows. Divine.

MAC PAINTPOT - BLACKGROUND
PIXI FAIRY LIGHT SOLO - FAIRY PINK

Hey guys, so this is what I finally came up with! I've used the gems before but here they have a bit more of a purpose? I've nicknamed them 'vajazzle brows' or 'bejewelled brows' if we want to be more classier ha!
What do you guys think? Does the rest of the make-up balance out the statement brows?

FAVOURITE TEAR SHEETS

Liner galore! I reference to this a lot, so many possibilities with eyeliner.
More eyeliner looks - eyes are my favourite feature to play around with still.
Bat your lashes!
Glitter <3
Oh I fell in love with this campaign when it first came out. Johansson has a romantic Elizabethan vibe going on <3
Tom Ford. Lara Stone. Stunning campaign. Purple hues and glossy textures.
Androgynous vibe with the thin brows, kohl lined eyes and muted lips. And it's Chanel and Kate Moss, perfect combo'.
This is probably my FAVOURITE campaign ever. The make-up is FLAWLESS. Perfected skin, brushed brows, defined lower lashes and velvet matte lips. AMAZING. And I love the fact the photo doesn't appear to be retouched... you can see pores people!

Hey guys, I thought I'd scan in some of my favourite tear sheets that are make-up related or most inspiring to me. The quality is pretty good so save them to your pictures folder (if you want to)... does anyone still do that?

L.F DOES S/S - MORE IS MORE AND UPDATE

My initial inspiration. Simple and dainty... but that's not my style! Well today anyway.
KEY PRODUCTS:
MUFE FLASH COLOUR - GOLD, I USED THIS AS A BASE FOR THE GLITTER TO ADHERE TO AND I ALSO PRESSED THIS ON TOP OF THE LIPS
OCC LIP TAR - NSFW
NATURAL COLLECTION LIPSTICK - CHERRY RED
SLEEK EAU LA LA EYELINER - NOIR
COLLECTION 2000 GLAM CRYSTALS EYELINER - ROCK CHICK

Hey guys, I'm back! I've not done a look on myself in ages because I've been a little preoccupied. OBVIOUSLY the first thing I was drawn to was glitter, red lips and lots of black. Inner drag queen I think.
I just started off with the gold glitter underneath the lash line and I just went with the flow. It's similar to a look I did last year  but with small tweaks and different products. Instead of it all being quite 'fluid' with the flicks, I played around with angles and geometry. The angles are sharper and the accents of black glitter liner on certain spots helps to soften it all up.

UPDATE:
I've turned into a gym bunny (wanna-be anyway). My parents have been moaning at me for ages about my weight. So I've finally decided to move my butt. I don't hate exercising. It's fine. I just don't have self initiative to do it. AKA LAZY SHIT. But my weight has been creeping on too much for me to ignore. E.G no longer fitting into jeans you could fit into a year ago..... FML moment.
I've joined the gym for 2 months whilst I'm at home, so I'm milking my membership by going everyday because it's bloody expensive (worth it but pricey). I can see *small* improvements already and I've been spurred on by having a gym buddy who'll make an experience on my blog at some point.
Current food cravings are: sushi and marshmallows. But when you see how long it takes to burn JUST 100 calories your cravings drop fast. Oh and seeing any photos of Kate Upton who is the same age as you. Not worth it. Not worth it.

Talk soon guys, I have lots of make-up looks to catch up on. My Tumblr is full of looks I want to do!

PROM MAKE-UP - 30/06/12

Pretty girls for prom :)
KEY PRODUCTS:
MAC BLUSH - SPRINGSHEEN
MAC LIPSTICK - SHY GIRL
MAC EYE SHADOW - SATIN TAUPE, OMEGA AND BRUN
URBAN DECAY 24/7 EYELINER - UZI
NARS BRONZING POWDER - LAGUNA
BOOTS NO7 PERFECT LIPS LINER - NUDE

Hey guys, sorry this is actually from awhile ago! I'm behind with keeping my posts in chronological order.
My only prom job this year but I had loads of fun doing these girls make-up. I kept things quite natural looking but still 'done'.
I think there's a tendency to go a bit 'drag' with prom make-up as you want to transform yourself but less is generally more, especially if you are wearing a statement dress.

L.F DOES S/S - CORAL KISS

I worked on top of her existing make-up which was: mascara and Garnier BB cream
She has the longest lashes EVER.
KEY PRODUCTS:
REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK - KISS ME CORAL
SHU UEMURA EYELASH CURLERS
URBAN DECAY 24/7 EYELINER - ROCKSTAR
CHANEL ILLUSION D'OMBRE EYESHADOW - ILLUSOIRE

Hey guys, so this is Elly again who is one of my closet friends from high school. She's just super awesome and positive all the time AND she gets my fascination with make-up - most of my friends just think I'm crazy.
She had a date to go to, so that was the brief - do whatever I wanted but not too 'crazy'. She also bought a lovely coral shade from Revlon that day so i wanted to somehow incorporate it in.
I did all the make-up apart from the base as she just wanted to keep what she was wearing. Random side note.... I personally don't mind seeing a few blemishes - unless I'm doing a shoot or they want to look 'perfected'. I kind of like to keep some elements kind of 'real' - sometimes I get sick of seeing all these immaculate young adults, it's normal to have blemishes. Nothing to be ashamed of!
