L.F DOES S/S - SPRING EQUINOX

Soft candy coloured hues..... love.
I've mentioned this video before here, I love the placement and application - all about layering guys!
The colour scheme I used reminds me of this Ilamasqua promo image - I wanted to mimic the skin which has this ethereal cool glow tinge.
You know that paranoid/insecure feeling when your trying out something 'new' for the first time? I had that. Anyway I'm over that initial stage.... I kind of love my green locks now! Shame it's not a permanent dye.
KEY PRODUCTS:
BENEFIT - BELLA BAMBA
BENEFIT - POSIE TINT
BENEFIT - EYE BRIGHT
THE BODY SHOP SHIMMER CUBES - 18
E.L.F EYE TRANSFORMER - BLUE
A RANGE OF IRIDESCENT EYESHADOWS IN PASTEL TONES - I'VE DEPOTTED MY EYE SHADOWS SORRY!

Hey guys, I guess this a 'typical' spring look with the soft muted pastel colours and iridescent finishes. I really enjoyed creating this I felt like some mermaid-pixie.
My advice is to avoid matte/pigmented eye shadows as you want to layer the colours to create these transparent hues. I always rave about E.L.F's eyeshadow transformer but it's seriously the best! The iridescent shots of colours makes it great for layering over colours and for softening edges whilst adding more dimension.
I've gone quite heavy with the highlighting to mirror the eyes - just make sure to highlight and powder the right areas or you'll look oily rather than dewy!

L.F DOES S/S - CHEN MAN FOR MAC INSPIRED

Promo image for the MAC and Chen Man collaboration. Her work is stunning!
Behind the scenes - the final image is a bit different to the photos here.... or maybe he wasn't quite finished with the look!
Very loosely inspired, I took things and changed some things up but the colour scheme and placement  is what inspired me the most. The cheeks had a more 'pinched' look too, which was done just by loads of layering and buffing :)
KEY PRODUCTS:
MAC EYE SHADOW - PASSIONATE AND CLIMATE BLUE
URBAN DECAY EYE SHADOW - NARCOTIC
ELF EYE TRANSFORMER - BLUE SHADE (LAYERED ON TOP OF THE TURQUOISE LID TO REPLICATE A 'GLOSS' LOOK TO THE EYE)
MAKE UP FOREVER FLASH COLOUR - FUCHSIA AND TURQUOISE
NYX LIP PENCIL - PINKY
LA FEMME BLUSH- CORAL (NOT SURE WHY BUT THIS KEPT FADING ON ME)
CONCEALER TO 'LIGHTEN' THE BROWS

Hey guys, this look will be the start of doing my spring/summer make-up series again for 2012. Certainly doesn't feel like it outside.
Don't need to point this out but this isn't the most flattering make-up on me ever! I think it's the brows, my face needs structure.
Anyway things that I picked up whilst doing this make-up was using creams on top of powders was quite interesting to work with - I did this with the eyes and it created a more matte finish than a glossy sheen.... something you guys might want to try out. Also if you happen to have any concealers that are too light - they work as wonderful natural looking highlighters to the face. I used this on the centre of my lower lid.
Lastly it is worth mentioning to replicate the official look authentically you can purchase the actual products they used online and in store right now (limited edition though - you know MAC).

L.F RAMBLES - NOSEY

With (obvs just an example of what it might look like)....
or without! I'm wearing MAC's extended play also.. one of my fav' muted reds that doesn't say POW! AND I'm in my pj's... don't judge.

Ugh, I'm having one of those impulses again. Basically this girl with a nose ring popped up on my Facey wall and now I kind of want one. Talk about being easily influenced (I'm not usually this bad). What do you guys think? It's a tad 'hipster' or 'hippy chick'..... which I'm neither but I kind of like it, even though my nose ain't exactly my favourite feature.
I go home for Easter in two weeks so I'll get it done then if I decide to. I have to consult the parentos first though - good daughter here. And if they say no, I'll use the "I'M 20 YEARS OLD THOUGH!" card ;)

L.F RAMBLES - UPDATE

My first ever pub crawl! I know I'm about 2 years too late...
KEY PRODUCTS:
DANIEL SANDLER WATERCOLOUR CREME-ROUGE BLUSHER - SOFT PINK
URBAN DECAY EYE SHADOW - GREEN GODDESS
SLEEK 'BAD GIRL' (GOD, I HATE THE NAME) PALETTE - DARK GREEN AND MATTE BLACK
MAYBELLINE EYESTUDIO LASTING DRAMA GEL LINER- BLACK
MAC TINTED LIP CONDITIONER - POPSTER
SHU UEMURA EYELASH CURLERS
BOURJOIS FLOWER PERFECTION AND 10 HOUR SLEEP EFFECT FOUNDATION MIXED TOGETHER
Day 2 of boozing! Excuse the hair, I'm growing out my fringe because it is too high maintenance. It's at that growing out stage where it won't sweep to the side by it self, so I have to do this Willow Smith-esque whipping hair motion constantly.
KEY PRODUCTS:
MAC BLUSHER - STYLE
MAC PRO LONGWEAR FOUNDATION (ON ITS LAST LEGS, UNDECIDED IF I SHOULD REPURCHASE OR NOT)
BOBBI BROWN CORRECTOR - LIGHT PEACH
SMASHBOX WATERPROOF SHADOW LINER - FAN CLUB
REVLON MATTE EYE SHADOW - VINTAGE LACE
For none serious make-up posts my bedroom wall will be the backdrop so you guys can see more of my 'personality'. What you see behind me stuff is uni work I accidentally sent to the printers.
I've not been out out (as in town/clubs) since my birthday which was about 2 months ago. This is unheard of in uni' FRESHER world but hey I am self-proclaimed hermit, I do have friends don't worry... I sometimes get called "mysterious enigma" by them... how exotic. I thought it'd be cool for you guys to see what make-up I actually wear outside my 'blog world'.
W MARCH EDITION (£5.00), LOVE AND POP S/S 2012 (£6.00)
Indulging in my naughty editorial tear sheet collecting obsession - I have a cupboard full of magazines and tear sheets waiting to be framed one day *le sigh*.
I've learnt if you really want something and you won't ever get the chance to own it again (well there's Ebay but I aint paying no sky high price hike).... BUY IT.
I know I look like a drunk mofo but this captures the make-up! Oh sacrifices.
Anyone else ever wanted to shave off their eyebrows so they could draw whatever style they wanted everyday? I can still dream.
You know when see someone with cool make-up and you feel compelled to copy it? I got it whilst watching AdoraBatBrat. Mines just vaguely inspired by her. NO-ONE can rock the Gothic style like her.
Manic Panic - Enchanted Forest
The secret is heat! Blast it with heat dryer and it'll be vivid. Though the up keep is too much for me.... looks nice for a couple of days then the FADE (my fault because I wash my hair too much). The goth look above is at the washed out stage (yuck.)

Hey guys, I've not done one of these 'L.F rambles' in ages..... I basically just talk about stuff outside 'L.F MAKE-UP' world.
I think I have roughly 5 weeks of uni' left before first year is over. WTF. Time has majorly flown! I'm starting to enjoy my course (graphic design) now too, I feel more comfortable with some aspects of it now and especially when you reference to 'geeky' terminology only people 'in the know' would know. It's all a bit clichey.
I wasn't ever going to quit but 2 months ago I didn't feel it was 'really me' and I was a bit 'down' about it.
I get to choose a specific pathway soon - still undecided between illustration (technically isn't graphic design) or publishing which is more about layouts and typography *I think*. I don't know yet.
I know I said I would get more people on board on this blog too - I'm working on it. I'm only starting to 'branch out' a bit friends wise, especially whilst I was in my 'down' stage I hardly went into the studio to work which isn't ideal if I wanted to get to know my class mates.... actually I don't think they know I do make-up on a 'serious' level or about this blog actually (it's hard to bring up and I'm not someone to brag about stuff I do), no-ones ever mentioned anything to me. Pretty weird if they do read this but I don't know they do (which happened in high school and art college).
Lastly major hello to my new followers too - I always get a buzz when someone enjoys reading my blog and decides to follow *waves*.
My small giveaway is still running just click here and comment 'enter me' for a chance to win free stuff :)

L.F DOES A/W - FRECKLE GLAM

JEREMY SCOTT S/S 2012
Val Garland (the make-up God) talks us through how to get that fun sun-kissed freckled Daisy Duke look. Oh and Charlotte Free's just adorable as always.
NINA RICCI A/W 2012 - Soft hazy eyes and bitten lips, so glam!
I didn't want the freckles to overpower this look so I used more bronzer patted on top to give it a softer appearance.
A mish mash of S/S and A/W! It's quite fun doing a 'typical' winter-esque make-up but with bronzed skin and freckles :)
KEY PRODUCTS:
NARS BRONZING POWDER - LAGUNA (SUMMER IN A PAN)
MAC EYE-SHADOW - SHROOM AND WEDGE
17 EYEBROW SHAPER - NATURAL BROWN (I USED THIS ON MY BROWS AND FOR THE FRECKLES)
NO7 PERFECT LIPS PENCIL - FIRE (OUTER)
MAC LIPSTICK - CYBER
WATERPROOF MASCARA - BEST FOR HOLDING UP CURLS

HOW TO FAUX THE FRECKLES:
  • FOR THE COMPOSITION OF YOUR DOTS, SYMMETRY IS NOT YOUR FRIEND - THINK IRREGULAR BUT ON THE RIGHT PLACES.
  • FRECKLES USUALLY APPEAR WHERE THE SUN NATURALLY HITS YOU- SO ON TOP OF YOUR NOSE AND CHEEKS.
  • TO KEEP THEM LOOKING NATURAL THEY SHOULD BE A MIX OF SHAPES AND SIZES.
  • IF YOU FIND YOUR FRECKLES TOO OBVIOUS TRY PATTING THEM WITH YOUR FINGER TO SOFTEN THE INTENSITY OR DUST ON EXTRA BRONZER TO THE AREA TO BLUR IT OUT.
  • USE EYELINERS/ LIP PENCILS/ EYE BROW PENCILS (NO SHIMMER) TO GET A RANGE OF TONES AND SET WITH POWDER TO AVOID ANY MOVEMENT.
  • LIGHT HANDS PLEASE! OR THEY'LL END UP AS MOLES!
Hey guys! This is actually a scheduled post... GUYS I'M ACTUALLY PLANNING POSTS. Tutorial week is a blessing for blogging.
Anyway as you are probably well aware, it's currently fashion week (or was) which means my Tumblr is flooded with the latest looks from the catwalks for F/W 2012.
The Nina Ricci look caught my eye as I love a good old hazy brown eye - it's like tired glam! The lips are also a good twist to the classic perfected lips with the added bitten fade - mines less punchy with the colour though.
The freckle inspiration actually came from reading my latest Glamour issue as they have a page dedicated to the freckle trend with tips from Charlotte Tilbury (another runway pro.) I've never done faux freckles on here before, so here it is!
Hope you guys try the freckle look out. It's actually really subtle looking and perfect if you want to mix up your make-up look :)
Lastly a new way for you to follow my blog! Follow my blog with Bloglovin.

YSL ROUGE PUR COUTURE GLOSSY STAIN IN ROUGE VINTAGE INITIAL THOUGHTS

YSL ROUGE PUR COUTURE GLOSSY STAIN- 5 ROUGE VINTAGE (£22.50)
The applicator is brilliant for precise application and it really helps to contour the lips
I had red lips on before hand so I tried my best to get rid of it all
2 thin layers (and sloppily applied.) I was worried it might be a bit too pink, but no, perfect mid tone berry..... or my sister's boyfriend would say "why don't you just buy some raspberry jam instead?"
I look like a startled tired monkey. IGNORE.
Nearly 5 hours of wear and I just blotted with a tissue to see what the stain looked like.
This is actually how I'd look if you bumped into me in real life. I don't even wear liquid eyeliner anymore - I'm so boring! AND still loving Bourjois' flower perfection foundation, wears very well and I've noticed no oxidation - NO ONE wants an orange face.

Hey guys, I don't usually get too excited by new releases but when Lisa Eldridge raves about something.... YOU KNOW IT'S GOOD.
I literally received this today but so far I'm very impressed and I know I will use it everyday as it gives me colour AND sheen with the reassurance I won't need to reapply and be paranoid it's moved.
I'd describe the texture and feel almost 'rubbery' on the lips (in a good way.) It sort of 'adheres' to the lips, which you don't get with other lip glosses and creamy lipsticks that have that 'slippery' feel.
Before I even blotted my lips they were still glossy and as I'm typing now, my lips don't feel too dried out - though a quick application of lip balm wouldn't go a miss.
Overall I'm very happy. Who doesn't want a lip product with long lasting wear time that eventually fades into a stain? So to summarise, if you want pigmented soft glossy lips with the reassurance it will not budge, give these a go!

UNNECESSARY STUDENT PURCHASE OF THE WEEK 6

 ACCESSORIZE925 SILVER LOVE RING  (£10)
Another sterling silver ring to my collection. This will fill in my lemmings for one of Calourette's 'word' rings.
PACO RABANNE BLACK XS L'EXCES FOR HER
This smells DIVINE (my friend finds this too sweet though). I'm rubbish at describing scents so for the low down click here. It's my new day fragrance because I was getting spray happy with Tom Ford's Black Orchid which is people friendly btw ;)
BOURJOIS FLOWER PERFECTION FOUNDATION- 52 AND 53
I have two because Boots had a decent offer where you could get two for £13.... And they retail at £10.99 anyway. I LOVE this. I'm wearing this foundation in my 60s look as a reference. I'd describe the finish as luminous matte without that dry clingy feeling that most matte foundations tend to do. I find the shades a TAD ashy but that could just be because of my skin undertone.
17 EYEBROW SHAPER- NATURAL BROWN (£2.99)
Cheap and cheerful. Win.
REAL TECHNIQUES CORE COLLECTION (£21.99)
Erm.... I went back to Boots. I'm hooked with these brushes, they are so GOOD. Basic brushes that are affordable, good quality and do their job.
I'm using these over my pricier ones right now - which is saying something here! Oh and the standing case tool is actually really practical for organising my day to day brushes - I'm quite messy.
TOPSHOP NEWGEN 10 TEES- MARY KATRANTZOU (£30)
A bit of an impulse buy whilst browsing Topshop. I love prints and a portion of the sales goes to charity so win-win.
GLAMOUR UK MAGAZINE- APRIL (£2)
I like reading Glamour anyway but this issue has a freebie and we all like free stuff (if it's good). We'll see. There's a sachet of the new Estee Lauder foundation too, so I'm happy :)

Ummm I've accumulated a new stash pretty quickly. Note this a make-up blog not a haul blog..... I am going through bad student spending spree syndrome. I *think* I'm done.

BACK TO THE 60S.... AGAIN

SOURCE
I remember this image when the whole 'beatnik' trend was all the rage. Pretty sure this make-up was done by Pat McGrath for Dior. It's a more grown up version of the graphic eyes of the 60s.
The lower lash line of my  right eye needs fixing, learn from my mistakes!
Focus on this eye instead!
KEY PRODUCTS:
MAYBELLINE LASTING DRAMA GEL LINER - BLACK (I SET THIS WITH BLACK EYE-SHADOW TO PREVENT ANY TRANSFERRING)
MAC EYE SHADOW - WEDGE (SOFT EYE CONTOURING)
MAKE UP FOREVER FLASH COLOUR - WHITE AND SET WITH SUGARPILL TAKO PRESSED EYE-SHADOW
MAC SKINSHEEN BRONZER STICK - TAN TINT AND SET WITH MAC SCULPT POWDER (I HAVE A MOON FACE)
MAC LIPSTICK - BRAVE NEW BRONZE

Hey guys, deadline was yesterday and now I have a week off (technically tutorial week and I have one lecture still).
Anyway, I was browsing at my older make-up looks and I stumbled across a 60s inspired look I did 2 years ago. Looking at the sheer mess of it, I thought I'd do a more refined version of it because the old one almost borders onto the drag fancy dress territory... you can see it here (I miss my jawline *sniff*).
I've not been too adventurous this time.... there was nothing I felt like tweaking from the inspiration photo. It's 60s mod without the tackiness - we all hate tacky right?
Hope you guys try it out- steady hand and baby wipes (to smooth lines) and you're ready to rock!
